"Aerobic Dance Classes For Fitness"

Aerobic dance classes are usually offered at three levels of intensity. A low impact class is good for anyone just starting an exercise program as this is done at a slower pace. The intermediate level is more active and will improve efficiency of the heart and lungs and therefore more suitable for anyone who is already fit. Advanced classes which are high impact suit very fit people who have gained overall strength and flexibility and want a hard workout.
Muscle building exercises, stretching routines and fat burning aerobic movements are performed to music. A variety of dance forms such as jazz, ballet, disco and hip hop are used. Each class starts with a warm up, stretching and ends with a cool down period. At least 30 minutes exercise most days is required for health benefits.
Aerobic dance exercise clothing should allow freedom of movement and be lightweight. The ideal exercise shoe would cushion the ball of your foot, have good support and should slide on the floor. All dance aerobic activities should be done on hardwood or cushioned flooring to prevent stress related injuries to the lower leg.
Before starting any exercise program get a medical checkup. To have safe and effective classes, make sure they are taught by certified aerobic dance instructors. There are many instructional videos and DVD's available online if you prefer to get moving at home.
